BECOME AN SOI PRACTITIONER
SOI is in the business of unleashing learning potential! Our mission is for everyone to be a successful learner through our comprehensive testing and training programs to ensure that necessary intellectual learning abilities are well-developed and in place.
We achieve this through our SOI practitioners. These trained specialists are spread across the United States and around the world and are impacting lives daily. They work with young children, students, parents, college students, those looking for a career change, and more!
GETTING TRAINED IN SOI
One of the most incredible parts about SOI is that everyone has the opportunity to become trained in the program! You don’t need an education background. You don’t need a degree. You simply need the desire to learn about SOI and a willingness to put it into practice.
Training begins at the Basic level, where you become acquainted with SOI and the basics of test administration and interpretation. From there, you have the option to progress up to Intermediate level and then to Advanced, each bringing a new level of expertise and opportunity.
Basic training is designed to generally acquaint you with SOI and SOI testing. You will be trained in SOI history, theory, and interpretation, as well as the Form CR and Form L tests.
This training is designed to provide you with more advanced skills of interpreting and applying SOI testing results. You will also be trained on the ALA and PLA tests. You may conduct Basic trainings at this level.
This training provides background information necessary for many different applications of SOI. Practitioners reaching this level of training are offered unique opportunities to pilot new programs, network with specialists, gain a deeper understanding of SOI, and may apply for Associate status.
In order to be considered an SOI “practitioner in good standing,” we require you to update your training every 2 years. This means either taking a refresher course at the same level or moving up to the next training level.

HISTORY AND THEORY
The history and theory of SOI is described in detail for your complete understanding of how SOI relates to classroom learning.
The various applications developed by SOI Systems will enable you to begin use in either a classroom or clinic setting.
ASSESSMENT AND RESEARCH
Particular emphasis is placed on SOI assessments as the cornerstones of using SOI in practical situations. You will be given the SOI test. You will learn how to score the test and interpret the results. You will receive a computer printout of your own assessment with careers and educational information.
You will receive instruction in using the test norms to interpret test results; more specifically, you will receive instruction about how the various factors of the test relate to basic learning - reading readiness, accomplished reading, arithmetic, mathematics, and creativity.
This training is designed to provide you with more advanced skills of interpreting and applying SOI test results.
Beyond the basic interpretation of the first level of training, you will be given guidelines on how to interpret SOI test results. Patterns of test results are related to various types of learning, such as giftedness, dyslexia, learning disabilities, delinquency, and job training.
TRAINING TECHNIQUES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Once you have achieved intermediate status, you are permitted to give training at the basic level. A portion of your intermediate training is devoted to requirements for basic level training and the accompanying certification.
You will be briefed on policies regarding SOI training and practices in the field, client confidentiality, copyright protection, and the conditions of software licensing.
You will be introduced to SOI abilities training as it relates to preparation for learning and remediation, how training is done, and what is expected in terms of results.
You will be introduced to Integrated Practice Protocol (IPP) - the SOI approach for developing perceptual and sensori-motor skills that form the substrata for effective learning.
This training provides background information necessary for many different applications of SOI.
Advanced trainers are representatives of SOI to people in their area who may need help in understanding different aspects of the Structure of Intellect.
REVIEW OF SOI USES
The different uses of SOI are reviewed with particular emphasis on what advanced trainers are doing.
FUTURE PLANS AND PRODUCTS
Since advanced trainers are representative of SOI, they need to be informed about products in development and current projects.
REFERRALS FROM SOI
If training is upgraded every two years, the SOI records will reflect that you are an Advanced trainer in good standing. With that recommendation, your name is given to potential clients in your area for testing or training.
